Save the Children Internacional (SCI), a non-profit humanitarian organization focused on the well-being of children, is recruiting a MEAL Officer - CD - SC 22/23 - Pemba.


Purpose

The MEAL Officer will work in the MEAL unit and will be responsible for implementing the MEAL system, strategy, and practices for HIV/AIDS and WASH implemented within the scope of the humanitarian response in Mozambique. This will be done by supporting the design of program monitoring systems, strengthening the team's capacity in analysis and dissemination of quality data, coordinating information management and information systems. The MEAL Officer is also responsible for establishing a link with beneficiary groups, ensuring the establishment of culturally appropriate and accessible feedback mechanisms in communities, ensuring compliance with SCI's MEAL standards and program quality. The incumbent in this position will play a key role in expanding and improving the quality of Save The Children's programs to increase impact and enable positive change for children in Mozambique.


Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Economics, Development Studies, Anthropology, Sociology, Social Sciences, Statistics, or any other relevant field.


Experience and Skills

Essential

  1. Minimum of 2 years of work experience in MEAL, implementing effective M&E systems;
  2. Demonstrable track record in data tracking and evaluation, with the ability to support staff and partners in M&E methodology, analysis, and information dissemination for a variety of stakeholders;
  3. Computer literacy, especially in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
  4. Software skills in mobile data collection (Kobo or other);
  5. Excellent planning, coordination, and communication skills, with the ability to organize a substantial workload consisting of diverse and complex tasks and responsibilities;
  6. Strong interpersonal communication skills, with experience working in a values-oriented, multicultural, multi-location team;
  7. Willingness to work and travel in often challenging environments;
  8. Committed to the values and principles of Save Children International, particularly a good understanding and approach to SCI;
  9. High level of written and spoken Portuguese and knowledge of the English language;
  10. Ability to manage complex workloads and stressful situations;
  11. Good personal organizational skills, including time management and the ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.


Desirable

  • Previous experience working in humanitarian programs;
  • Knowledge of at least one local language.
